THE MATERIALS

Our materials are always intentionally picked and utilized for durability and effectiveness. This bag is comprised of waxed canvas, a poly-based liner, and stainless steel and copper accents.

Beautiful waxed canvas creates the outside of this bag. Waxed canvas is similar to regular canvas but with a few added benefits: it repels water and ages beautifully. Like high-quality leather, the waxed canvas looks and feels better the more you use it; expect a beautiful patina to evolve. Waxed canvas is also super tough, easy to wipe off and clean, and an animal-safe alternative to leather.

The interior poly-based liner boasts watertight seals, antimicrobial properties, and ease of cleaning. It’s malleable and meant to be taken out, washed, and put back in without breaking or losing its shape.

Finally, stainless steel and copper accents are beautiful, strong, and match our full Barebones Gardening & Foraging collection.

THE INSPIRATION

Our Harvest & Gathering bag was inspired by the traditional and lasting style of a vintage harvest bag. These containers have been used for centuries by farmers, arborists, foragers, and orchard and vineyard workers to easily and quickly collect and harvest crops. This "bag" was typically just a soft shell bucket that attached to the hip on both sides, so workers could squat down on their knees and work efficiently with their hands. We wanted something that captured the essence of this historic design with a more modern, multi-purpose appeal.

THE DESIGN

You don’t need to be a farmer to utilize this super versatile bag. By adding the same watertight liner we developed for our coolers, this carrier acts as a perfect companion to the Farmer’s Market, a temporary container for fresh cut flowers, a quick way to carry cold drinks to the beach, or as a mushroom and wild edibles foraging bag. Easily remove the liner post-trip and rinse it off in your sink or with a hose. The waxed canvas exterior is made for rough use and can be wiped clean after any adventure.

The addition of a simple bottom drop-out makes quick work of gathering fruits and vegetables and dumping them at the end of the day. Perfect for an expert orchard owner and just as helpful on a day full of apple picking with the family. This bag has functional use for just about everyone.
